The DIO-430-R1 is a smart relay expansion module built for seamless integration with Home Assistant through MicroPLC and MiniPLC platforms over RS-485 Modbus RTU. Designed for intelligent load control in smart homes, industrial systems, and building automation, it features three high-performance relays and four opto-isolated digital inputs for versatile input/output functionality.

Built on the RP2350 microcontroller, the module offers open-source programmability and reliable performance for lighting, HVAC, and general-purpose control. With local buttons, LED indicators, and USB configuration, it enables both remote and manual control in automation scenarios.

The module includes three high-performance SPDT relay outputs (NO/NC) for switching electrical loads up to 16A, along with four 24VDC digital inputs suitable for wall switches or sensors. Manual push buttons are provided for each relay, allowing for local override and diagnostics. LED indicators offer clear visual feedback for power status, relay activity, input states, and RS485 communication.

The DIO-430-R1 comes pre-installed with firmware written in the Arduino IDE and predefined Modbus addresses, enabling seamless out-of-the-box integration with MicroPLC and MiniPLC systems. Designed for flexibility, the DIO-430-R1 supports DIN-rail or surface mounting and is powered by a 24VDC supply. Its open-source design—with firmware and schematics available on GitHub—ensures full transparency and customization. Programming options include MicroPython and C/C++ using the Arduino IDE, enabling the development of advanced control logic, timers, and integration with broader automation systems.
